No move from Kochi IPL team, says Ganguly
Former Indian cricket skipper Sourav Ganguly today said he had not been approached by any of the ten franchises so far for playing in the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Many newspapers in recent weeks published reports about certain moves by new team Kochi and Mumbai Indians to sign the 38-year-old left-hander after he remained unsold in the two-day player auction earlier this month.
Attending a local promotional funtion here, Ganguly, who captained Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 1 and 3 editions, said he was yet to be approached by any of the 10 franchises. He said he only read such reports in the newspapers.
"I do not know much about the teams and it seems you guys know more than me," he said.
One report had said that Ganguly wanted to play for Mumbai Indians in the coming IPL season.
