Zimbabwe elect to bat first against Kiwis

 

AHMEDABAD, March 4 (Reuters) - Zimbabwe captain Elton Chigumbura won the toss and decided to bat first against New Zealand in their World Cup Group A match at the Sardar Patel Stadium on Friday.
Chigumbura had no hesitation in opting to bat first on a dry wicket that will offer some turn later in the day for the spinners.
Zimbabwe brought in Regis Chakabva and Tinashe Panyangara for the injured Sean Williams and Chris Mpofu while Kyle Mills returned from a back injury to bolster the New Zealand pace attack.
Batsman Jamie How made way for Mills in the New Zealand team.
Both teams are seeking their second win of the tournament.
